Hello neighbors,
It’s Mike Harris here, and I’m excited to announce that I’m running for a position on the Camp Branch Acres POA Board of Directors. Many of you know me already, and if you don’t, I hope to earn your trust and support.
Let’s face it — the past year has been a bit of a bumpy ride. If Camp Branch Acres were a reality TV show, we’d probably be somewhere between “Survivor” and “Judge Judy.” And while I enjoy a good laugh as much as anyone, what we’ve seen from our board this year hasn’t been funny—it’s been frustrating.
By now, most folks realize the root of the problem: three current board members who seem to believe that Texas Property Code and fiduciary duty are just optional suggestions — like using your blinker or returning your shopping cart. They’ve acted as if these rules are just for the “little people” who don’t understand what’s going on.
Well, surprise: the people do understand. In fact, every time this “Trio” has put something to a vote, the community has responded loud and clear. Whether it was the amateur-hour recall attempt of Jerry and Charlene, or other measures they’ve tried to push through — every single one has been rejected by the members. That says a lot.
But now, we have a new opportunity. A fresh election. A full stop and a chance to change direction.
If elected, I promise you this:
✅ I will follow the Texas laws that govern POAs.
✅ I will uphold the fiduciary responsibilities expected of every board member.
✅ I will listen to you, communicate openly, and treat every property owner with respect.
✅ I will help steer us away from drama and back to focusing on roads, safety, and the things that really matter.
I won’t pretend that every decision will make everyone happy — but I will promise that those decisions will be made with transparency, fairness, and with the good of the entire community in mind. We’ve had enough of hidden agendas and withheld information.
Now, before I close, I want to speak from the heart on something important.
Bertha C. is also running — and I want you to know that she is a true friend of mine and a great asset to this community. Working with her on the By-Laws Committee has been a joy, and I believe she has a bright future on this board. I say that sincerely. However, at this moment in time, I believe my experience, engagement, and leadership in confronting the issues caused by the current board majority put me in a position to help guide this community back to solid ground.
I hope you’ll support me in this election. Let’s build a board that works with the people and for the people.
With respect,
Mike Harris
