We would like to remind all property owners that the election for the Board of Directors is currently scheduled for July 5, 2025. This is an important opportunity for our community to participate in shaping the leadership and direction of our association.
Although this election was previously scheduled for Memorial Day Weekend (May 24, 2025) it was postponed - without a vote by the board and without proper notice to the property owners. Because of that, we are making contingency plans in case there is another unauthorized delay or cancellation.
If the election is once again postponed without proper notice or authorization, property owners are invited to attend an in-person meeting at the boat ramp on the same day, July 5, 2025, to receive updates and participate in open community discussion. We are committed to ensuring that the rights of property owners are respected and that the democratic process is upheld.
How Many Positions Are Open?
As of now, we understand that two positions on the Board of Directors are supposed to be open. However, when asked directly, the cbapoa@gmail.com address responded only with, "Two, at this time." We believe transparency matters. It's never clear who is writing as cbapoa@gmail.com since they don't usually sign their name, but we are sure it was one of the Kellies. "At this time" are weasel words and implies uncertainty - yet nothing between now and the issuance of ballots should be changing the number of open positions. Why can't they just clearly state 2? Why, when asked to please share that info with the community did Mike get back the answer "It'll be printed on the ballot"? Any changes to the number of positions that occur between now and July 5, 2025 will just be another instance of dishonesty and game playing.
After this article was originally posted we received an email from cbapoa@gmail.com (of course, not signed). They state that Phil's term will be extended another year. This is without precedent, and does not reflect an official board action or the will of the poperty owners.
We will be happy to post candidate statements here on this site. Just email jenharristx@ gmail.com for any statements you would like uploaded.
We hope for a transparent, timely, and fair election and we're prepared to stand together if that process is once again disrupted.
